Highlights

Pysanky Easter Egg Dying                March 11, 18, 25, 2010

Join Marg Putzke in this traditional Ukrainaian way of making wax-dyed eggs to celebrate the fertility and new life Easter brings.  Participants will learn how to make and care for these gems in Session 1.  Sessions 2,3 & 4 provide an opportunity to practice the technique and create additional eggs. The symbolism of the egg is not lost on Marg Putzke, nor is her Polish heritage. Combining the two, lead her to explore the ancient art of Pysanky, Polish/Ukrainian egg decorating. Using authentic tools, wax, dyes, and spiritual symbols, we will create artful eggs throughout the weeks of Lent leading to the celebration of Easter.

Donation: $40 first session; $10 for each following session

  • Day of Enrichment for Spiritual Directors

God Hunger: Nurturing Our Deepest Desires

March 19 or March 20

9 AM – 3 PM

In our quiet moments, we often encounter a deep longing at the core of our beings. This hunger and yearning is one of our greatest gifts, the heart of our spiritual quest, yet it can easily go unattended, both in ourselves and those we companion. An increased awareness of our deepest desires is key to our developing a fuller and more intimate relationship with God, ourselves, and others. Particular focus will be given to assisting participants in nurturing these desires as well as the desires of those they journey with. The day will include input, prayer, sharing and discussion.

Presenter: Our presenter is Robert Howlett, Ed.D., a Pastoral Counselor and Spiritual Director who has spent over 20 years in doing spiritual direction, leading retreats, and presenting workshops.  He has offered this day of spiritual enrichment at the Upper Room in New Jersey, Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, the Duncan Conference and Retreat Center in Delray Beach, and at St. Thomas University in Miami.

Spiritual World Net

website: www.spiritualworldnet.com

Spiritual World Net provides educational opportunities to Spiritual Directors and Companions that have completed their formal education and that would like to continue developing themselves at lowest cost possible through the use of technology.

We recognize that we need to be an example of how to embrace diversity among the community; we do this by providing services to a diverse audience, providing different ways to access the resources to people with different economic levels, through the use of inclusive language, though the recognition of different learning styles.

We recognize that technology offer us a new way of advancing the ministry of Spiritual Direction and Companionship. We research and share ways to use the technology effectively for the ministry.
